Enter ISSUE Project Room, a can factory turned music spot. This is the site of composer/theatre artist John Moran’s latest brain child, performance piece “John Moran + Saori (…in Thailand).”

The act begins as Moran, with a bright and frenetic nervous energy, candidly tells the audience about his penniless days living on the floor of Galapagos Art Space and under mentor Philip Glass’ piano. This was before he met neighbor and muse Saori Tsukada, a Japanese dancer, who he has since traveled through Europe with to create performance art pieces. After this spry introduction, the duo launch into quick repartee and dive into an assemblage of life reenactments. The staged dialogues chronicle their escapades in New York, Germany, and Thailand, contrasting their disparate personalities.
