Out of this World Crafting!

On a rainy day in New York, there are infinite options to entertain oneself: visit a museum, catch a film at the Angelika, go shopping indoors. However, this particular gloomy Sunday I found a far more creative and productive way to spend my time at SpaceCraft in Williamsburg.

The charming craft shop and studio on Bedford opened its doors two and a half years ago, providing a menu of craft projects, from picture frame decorating to jewelry making, for all ages to enjoy.

SpaceCraft encourages its patrons to be inspired by their own creativity, using the environmentally sustainable materials such as donated clothing or recycled paper to create everything from journals to iPhone covers to embellished t-shirts and totebags. If you want to do a project at home you have to buy everything—glitter, glue, feathers— and a lot of it ends up going to waste! SpaceCraft offers an environmentally sound solution by providing everything a crafter would need (and they clean up after you too!)
