Metropolitan Opera’s Young Associates Preview Party

Last week, The Metropolitan Opera’s Young Associates group welcomed the upcoming opera season with a swanky party held on the terrace of the Met.  Twenty somethings dressed to impress crowded the inner and outer terrace, sipping on unlimited champagne, and tasty bites like miniature pesto goat cheese sandwiches (with the crusts cut off!). Inside New York met an impressive variety of guests, from opera fanatics to those who purchased a ticket to the party from a Gilt deal.

While the cocktails and hor d’oeuvres were certainly perks of the night, the true highlight was the performance given by two young opera stars. No opera glasses necessary: we were up close and personal with the singers as they belted beautiful arias alongside a piano accompanist.

For two hours, the Met felt more like a chic lounge than the epicenter of NYC Opera culture.  INY had a fabulous time and cannot recommend the Met’s YA program enough!
