AP: My favorite grilled cheese in NYC is the “Recipe Grilled Cheese” from Recipe, one of my favorite brunch places in UWS. It’s not your everyday grilled cheese. It’s a perfect blend of brioche, house made chicken pate, and gruyere sandwiched between perfectly toasted and buttery bread. This mouthwatering selection always satisfies my grilled cheese cravings.
CL: Perhaps it’s because of his TV persona or aura of celebrity, but I’ve always liked Tom Colicchio and his army of Craft restaurants. ‘wichcraft, especially, has a fantastically rich aged gruyere grilled cheese on grilled rye. Combine it with their creamy tomato soup and it’s the perfect comfort meal.
